New MembersNow that you’ve found us, come and join us on one of our events. Whether you come on a walk or a social event, it goes without saying that you can expect a warm welcome. Why not join us on our next introductory walk There’s nothing complicated about the way our group is run – if you want to attend any of our day walks and most of our social events, all you need to do is turn up at the appointed time and place. The only events you need to book for are some socials and all weekend trips. Come along to a few different events to try us for free and you will see some familiar and meet new faces each time. When you first e-mail us to express an interest in the group, we will add you to our e-mail list as a prospective member. E-mail is our main method of communication, and we use it to send out details of all socials, weekend trips and other events. Details of all day walks are available from the front page of this website in text or map format or in a more basic form on the Ramblers website (click here) which we also publish the walks to. Our walks programme is published every 4 months (starting in April, August and December) and is sent to all members. If you are a new member, feel free to ask for a copy of the current walks programme. How to join the Chilterns 20-30s Walking GroupWhat will I need to bring / wear on a walk? What you need will depending on the length of the walk, the season, and the weather. A lot of common sense applies. For example, things you would take in the summer may not be suitable for walking on a cold and windy February day. You will need a pair of walking boots or trainers - boots are better in the winter when things are muddy - with "puddles", waterproofs are a good idea - and sufficiently warm clothing for the time of year. In the winter, you should bring a hat and gloves. A back pack is also a good idea - one costing £10-15 will be perfectly adequate You will also need to bring water - a couple of 500ml bottles even in winter - and a few snacks Use of the Chilterns 20/30s web site is subject to Chilterns 20/30s Terms of Use Chilterns 20/30s site - Data Protection Statement. © Chiltern 20s 30s Walking Group, © pfp Solutions Ltd Web Design.
